It must have been a great day when the founders of Aerowheel approached us for the remaking of their website. It was an extremely interesting project with a lot to learn. Our team began with numerous meetings with the Founders of the brand to get a detailed insight of their requirements which is of course a prerequisite before we start developing any website.
Aerowheel is a manufacturer and exporter of Blasting Equipments. They supported us with their old website which was in a very sorry state. It was like starting from scratch! The previous website of the brand had some serious issues like the SPAM Score was very high to start with. So we knew, there was a lot of fixing required.
Defeating the monster SPAM Score!
The previous website had a SPAM Score of 51% while the ideal SPAM Score shall not exceed 15%. The people who have just stepped into the SEO industry might be thinking about what SPAM Score is and what its effects on SEO are. It basically measures the penalties that are given to a website by google. Up to 5% spam score is acceptable for SEO. Simply put, it is a tool that enables Google to blacklist your website by actually analyzing the subdomains, fake websites and backlinks received by your website to give you a score between 0 and 100, the closer it is to 100, the higher spam on your site, which will negatively affect your site ranking.
So this was one big task we had to resolve! Our team is working towards it and we have been successful to an extent but the job is still ongoing!
The previous website with domain ‘aerowheel.in’ had a lot of poor backlinks which were getting redirected. Therefore our team worked to create helpful backlinks in place of those bad backlinks and had to abandon this redirection to boost the SEO ranking of the website.
SEO plays a very important role for the success of any website and there were a lot of factors that were detrimental to the SEO of the previous website. We are constantly improvising on them.
Designing
The design of the website that a user will see is the first thing that will attract your customers on the internet. We have worked at our best abilities to bring an ideal design for the brand. We have stayed continuously in touch with the Client and made the changes in our design wherever was desired by him.
Content Marketing
To talk about the content, the previous website lacked keywords and the text was not sufficient. The SEO Benefits of long form content is longer content produces higher search rankings. Our team had several rounds of meetings with the client and researched on the products of Aerowheel in order to draft apt content for the website with SEO friendly keywords and meta description. We took an idea of the characteristics of the products from the previous website and through meetings with the client we were directed to the right research into the depths of working of the products which helped us further frame the right content.
The client had listed his products on IndiaMart as well. We provided him with the right content for his profile there as well.
Speed Booster Changes
One other challenge was the speed of the website. Website speed or website performance refers to how quickly a browser is able to load fully functional web pages from a given site. Poorly performing sites that render slowly in a browser can drive users away. Conversely, sites that load quickly will typically receive more traffic and have better conversion rates.
The speed of the previous website was utterly poor due to several factors, one among them being the pictures were large in size. We worked in order to reduce the size and alter the format of the pictures. Our team compressed the images which were in ‘jpeg’ format. We prefer ‘webp’ format over ‘jpeg’. WebP typically achieves an average of 50-60% more compression than JPEG and JPEG 2000, without loss of image quality. The WebP format essentially aims at creating smaller, better looking images that can help make the web faster.
Speed also gets poor if the code of the website is not properly compressed. We have managed to compress the JAVAScript and CSS code of the previous website which were one of the major lacunas.
Our client is happy!
Currently, our team has submitted an application to Google for reducing the SPAM Score and we are consistent in our efforts in introducing good backlinks in place of the hostile ones. We are also working on enhancing the speed of the website. As on date it is at 57 performance for laptops. The job is ongoing!
We are hopeful that the results of the same will soon render a good SEO ranking to Aerowheel’s website!
